Digital Anterior Segment Imaging

Dr. Rodriguez uses these photos for documentation of the condition which will help in efficient diagnosis and in educating his patients. Viewing both the anterior and the posterior segment of the eye is critical in diagnosis of numerous ocular diseases. There are multiple diseases of the outside of the eye, such as eyelids as well as the anterior segment in the front third of the eye, including the conjunctiva, cornea, iris, ciliary body, lens and vitreous humour. Diseases that affect these parts of the eye include Blepharitis, tumors, lesions, Pterygium, Pinguecula, corneal ulcers, corneal abrasions, keratitis, uveitis and cataracts as well as injuries such as foreign body trauma.

Digital Anterior segment imaging captures full color ocular photographs. These high quality digital resolution images can be enlarged, enhanced, segmented, stored and printed. They serve as valuable resources to monitor change and for the purpose of patient education; they can also be transmitted to other facilities or ophthalmic professionals.
